Last updated 1 Aug 2026. What CINBook does with personal data — both the register data it publishes about company directors, and the very little it collects from people who visit.
Who is responsible
cinbook.com is run by CINBook, an independent business based at 6th Floor, Rahimtoola House, Homji Street, Near Horniman Circle, Fort, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400001, India. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, CINBook is the Data Fiduciary — the party responsible for the personal data described here. Contact: dpo@cinbook.com.
What we collect from you
Effectively nothing. This site sets no cookies, loads no third-party scripts, and runs no analytics, advertising or tag-manager code. There are no accounts and no login. You can read every page here without identifying yourself in any way, and we do not build a profile of you.
Our servers keep ordinary request logs — IP address, timestamp, the page requested, and the browser’s user-agent string. They exist to keep the service running, diagnose faults and detect abuse. They are not used for marketing, and are not sold or shared. Logs are kept for up to 90 days and then discarded.
If you email us, we keep that correspondence for as long as it takes to deal with it and to keep a record of what was asked and answered.
The personal data we publish
This is the part that matters most. CINBook publishes information about company directors and designated partners — names, Director Identification Numbers, the companies they hold office in, their roles, and the dates of appointment and cessation. That is personal data, and it concerns real people.
It comes from filings made with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, which the Ministry publishes on the public register under the Companies Act, 2013. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 does not apply to personal data that has been made publicly available under a legal obligation of that kind. We republish it in a more readable form. We do not add to it, and we do not infer, score or speculate about anyone.
Why: so someone doing business with a company can see who runs it, and so a person’s record across the companies they are involved in can be read in one place. Nothing here is published for advertising or profiling.
Contact details we hold but do not publish
We hold email addresses and mobile numbers for directors, drawn from the same MCA filings. These are never published on this site. They are not in the pages we serve — not in the visible text, and not hidden in the underlying code. Where a person’s page indicates that contact details exist, it shows only that fact, never the values.
Who else sees this data
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or marketing networks. The only third parties involved are the infrastructure providers that host the site and store the data on our behalf, which process it solely to provide that service. We may disclose information where required to by law, a court, or a competent authority.
How long we keep it
Register data is kept for as long as it remains on the public register and this site operates. It is refreshed from MCA so that it reflects the current record rather than a stale copy. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days. Correspondence is kept for as long as it is needed.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Access to the underlying data is limited to the people who operate the service, and director contact details are held apart from anything the public site is able to render. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects personal data we hold, we will notify the people affected and the Data Protection Board of India as required.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. The register data published here concerns company directors, who are adults.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data about you we hold and how we use it
- correct anything we have rendered inaccurately
- remove your details from this site
Write to dpo@cinbook.com and include the DIN or CIN so we can find the right record. We will respond within 30 days.
One honest limit. The MCA register is the authoritative source. If a detail about you is wrong here because it is wrong on the register, correcting it at the source is the only durable fix — we refresh from MCA and would otherwise reintroduce the old value. Filings with the Ministry are the route for that, and we will say so plainly rather than leave you waiting on us.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled a request, write to dpo@cinbook.com, or by post to CINBook, 6th Floor, Rahimtoola House, Homji Street, Near Horniman Circle, Fort, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400001, India. If you remain unsatisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes with it. We do not backdate.
